Showing friends around my favorite go-to restaurants is something I'll always enjoy doing. Especially if the person joining for lunch has absolutely no idea this gem existed just a couple of blocks from her house! Last week was all about that: I decided to step foot into one of my favorite restaurants, Soyka, to enjoy a lovely afternoon with my new, dear friend Denise Grier a.k.a the vegan lady. Revisiting the amazing, modern, industrial aesthetics was on my list to show Denise in the North Miami area. As we were guided through the restaurant to be seated, I had to let the hostess know that it was a must to enjoy lunch in their beautiful outdoor seating area. It is filled with dozens of bright, waterfall-like, money plants that hang over its concrete walls! If there's a place I wish my house looked like (specifically, my backyard) it has got to be this little corner! Such a magical alley to spend some time in good company. Being surrounded by different shades of green in contrast with vivid, colorful paintings scattered throughout the restaurant, definitely put me in my element that day!
